Star Steps (starsteps.zeroorigine.com and its apps) is made by a young creator and operated as part of ZeroOrigine ("we", "us"). Contact: reply@zeroorigine.com.
You can play Star Steps without an account. A parent account lets you save progress for each child and use it on any device. To create one you must be the child's parent or legal guardian and at least 18 years old, give a real email address, and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. A family can have up to 4 child profiles, each with a first name and a grade only.
Pro costs US$7.99 a month or US$59.99 a year. Super costs US$12.99 a month or US$89.99 a year. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes are added where the law requires. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Free trial. Your first paid plan starts with 7 days free. A card is required. We email you 3 days before the trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, the price shown at checkout is charged when the trial ends. Each family gets one free trial.
Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. If we ever change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then.
Cancelling. Cancel any time in the parent area under Plan, then Manage billing. Your plan stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Deleting your account cancels your plan immediately.
Switching. You can switch between Pro and Super, or between monthly and yearly, in Manage billing. The difference is worked out to the day and shown before you confirm.
Refunds. Payments are not refunded for part of a period, except where the law says otherwise. If you were charged by mistake, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will put it right.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, your plan stays on for a short grace period while we retry and ask you to update your card. If payment still fails, your family returns to the free plan. No progress is lost.
Star Steps is made for children aged 5 to 12, played with a parent's permission. Children cannot buy anything: plans and settings sit behind a question for grown-ups, and every purchase is finished by the parent in the parent area. How we handle children's information is explained in the Privacy notice.
Please use Star Steps for learning and play. Do not try to break into accounts or systems, copy the app or its content to offer elsewhere, get paid features without paying, or disrupt the service for others. We may suspend an account that does these things.
The lessons, questions, characters (including Pip), artwork and code belong to Star Steps and its creators. Your subscription gives your family a personal, non-transferable right to use them while your account is open.
We work to keep Star Steps accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. Star Steps supports learning and does not replace a school or teacher. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law.
You can delete your account at any time in the parent area. This deletes every child profile and all saved progress and cancels any plan. We keep payment records only as long as tax law requires.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and email account holders before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away any protection given to you by the law of the place where you live.
